Clay Day has been designed for those bigger groups of people who are looking to do something different.  Spend a day working with clay under the instruction of ceramicist Jackie Maurer. Learn new skills and make something that you can take home at a later date and keep for ever more.  This will be a fun filled collaborative day, ideal for Corporate groups, Hen parties, Team building, etc. Minimum 8, maximum 10, please contact Jackie via email to book a clay day!

This course is a great way to switch off for the day with friends or colleagues and Jackie's workshops is set in the heart of the Burren Co Clare. Views of the mountains to the back and the rolling  sea to the front. Included in the cost is a light lunch,tea coffee and refreshments, if you require something more substantial this can be organized for you at an extra cost

All materials and firings are included, aprons and tools will be provided, just bring along a sketch book so you can take notes and record your ideas.

Who is this course for?

This course will suit beginners looking for an introduction to working with clay, or those who have worked with clay before and would like a simple refresher. Participants will learn the basics required to make simple forms. If you are more advanced on the wheel that is no problem I can help to hone your skills further.

What should I wear/bring?

Wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting messy. We have aprons for all.

What to expect?

I run a small pottery from my home in Ballyvaughan which is located in the west of Ireland. I am a potter and all the skills you will be taught will be done on the potter’s wheel, class sizes are small full occupancy is 3 so one on one tuition is guaranteed. Lunch will be provided generally a soup and salad, tea and coffee will also be served. Please do let me know if you have allergies. We will eat in the gallery or the house depending on time of year. Class starts at 10am and runs till 4ish, if you would like to spend more time in the pottery after 4 to practice the skills that I have taught you please feel free.

My address is Ballyconrey, Ballyvaughan, Co Clare. Eire code H91VRH6. The pottery is located on the Doolin/ Fanore road, it’s roughly 1 km from Monks pub in the village heading in the direction of Fanore. Look out for the purple signs on your left hand side and ignore the beautiful view on your right as you might miss me!
